BIO

Alexandra E. McFadden has worked as a capacity builder for nonprofits and government agencies in Philadelphia, Cleveland, and New York, raising more than $250 million in competitive grant funding, and designing numerous projects to improve access to education, health care, and resources for families. Born and raised in East Parkside, she returned from work as chief of staff of the Cleveland Foundation in February 2018, when she began actively volunteering at the Centennial Parkside Community Development Corporation, where she was elected secretary to the Board of Trustees in May 2018 and president in October 2019. Alexandra has also worked at the Upper Manhattan Empowerment Zone in New York as a National Urban Fellow, and as a grant writer for the School District of Philadelphia and various nonprofits throughout the city of Philadelphia. 


In addition to her community work, Alexandra is an avid musician who performs with the Mendelssohn Club Chorus of Philadelphia. She has a master’s degree in public administration from Baruch College and a bachelor of arts in English from the University of Pennsylvania.
